What you will be doing
We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to support proof-of-concept (POC) technology initiatives and the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems. As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work closely with senior engineers and product teams to build, test, and improve full-stack applications that power WhiteCoat’s digital healthcare platform.
On a day-to-day basis, this means you will:
Support the development of POC projects to evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and ideas.
Assist in building and maintaining full-stack features, including frontend components (JavaScript) and backend services (Java).
Fix bugs, improve performance, and enhance reliability of existing applications.
Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews and technical discussions.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in an agile development environment.

Job requirements
What we are looking for
Required:
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in JavaScript (frontend frameworks such as React/Vue is a plus).
Basic knowledge of Java for backend development (e.g. Spring or similar frameworks).
Understanding of fundamental software engineering concepts (APIs, databases, version control).
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Good to have:
Exposure to RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, or containerization (Docker).
Prior internship, school projects, or hackathon experience in full-stack development.
